The Highland Club by Loch Ness

Escape to the tranquility of a modern apartment within the 20 acres of The Highland Club , formerly St Benedict’s Abbey, Fort Augustus

St Benedict’s Abbey, Fort Augustus, nestled on the southern shores of Loch Ness has a long and fascinating history through turbulent times as a military garrison, as a place of peace by St Benedictine monks and now redeveloped, to provide some of the most exclusive self catering holiday homes and residential apartments in the Highlands of Scotland: The Highland Club.

The Highland Club’s loch-side location, surrounded on three sides by water, offers more than twenty acres of beautiful mature garden grounds extending right down to the shoreline of the loch. The Caledonian Canal forms the western boundary and the River Tarff forms the eastern boundary. Guests of The Highland Club benefit from fishing and mooring rights on Loch Ness and the River Tarff. You will find The Highland Club just off the A82, midway between Inverness and Fort William, thus providing an excellent base for touring the Highlands. There are excellent road rail and air links into the Highland capital, Inverness, from across the UK and Europe and Fort Augustus is less than an hour from Inverness.

The Highland Club presently offers guests a tennis court and cricket pitch and The Boathouse Restaurant situated within the grounds. Renovation works will continue within The Highland Club until 2009 and once completed the facilities, exclusively for Highland Club residents and visitors, will also include an indoor swimming pool, spa facilities, a Rod and Gun Store and the Club Room with full sized snooker table.
